NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)
Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

I am so very impressed! You read some really deep (not to mention long) novels this year and still came up with 125. Someday I'll be like you, too... ;)
Holy cow Batman! That's a lot of reading!
Literatehousewife ~ Thank you! I get a lot of help from long commutes and audiobooks. I did get some really good stuff in this year though. Wait until you see what's on the burner for 2009! I can't wait to get started! :-)

Wowza...that is a ton of books! Congratulations! I will be looking forward to what you have for next year.
You had a good year in books! I didn't start keeping track until mid-year and in that time I read 67.
Amy ~ Thanks! I think it's the most I've ever done!
Jo-Jo ~ Thank you! I only wish I could read faster. There is always so much we want to get to.
Bermudaonion ~ Thanks! That's a lot for half a year! I've been keeping track in a journal since 1993, with only a couple of years missed. It's enlightening to go back and read the old lists sometimes and see how my tastes have evolved.
Lezlie

Leslie, What a wonderful achievement. Your reading list for 2008 looks quite interesting -- a real variety of genres!
So what's up for you this New Year?
BTW, Happy New Year to you, too!
Literary Feline ~ Thanks! Agatha Christie is so fun to read. I just did too many in a row to finish out the Challenge. I'll be spacing them out better next time. :-)
Joanna ~ Thank you!
Lisa ~ Thanks! It's a personal record for me, so I'm very happy!
Naida ~ Thanks! I'll be curious to see what you think of Odd Hours when you get to it.
Brenda ~ Thanks! Variety is the spice of life, right? :-) I have a ton of Challenges lined up for 2009, plus I'd like to read more short stories, essays and poetry. I'm ready to get started!
Lezlie
I just love the crazy variety of stuff you read! and how much, too, of course!
Great list! It looks like you read a lot of classics this year. I meant to read War and Peace but never got around to it. Having a new born really put a cramp in my reading schedule : )
Wow! What a great (and varied) list!
Bkclubcare ~ Thanks! I need to switch things up or I get bored.
MyUtopia ~ Thanks! A baby would definitely make things more difficult. I don't know how all you moms do it. Hats off to you all!!
Agirlinthisvicinity ~ Thanks! I'm hoping to add poetry books in 2009. And maybe a little more nonfiction.
Lezlie
Nice going, Lezlie! Wonderful variety of books. 125 is my goal for 2009.
Have a wonderful 2009 - thanks for all your blog encouragement this year. And thanks - I think - for getting me interested in the challenges!
Thanks, Terri! And you're welcome! You will have a ball with all the challenges. The secret is not to take them too seriously and just have fun exploring the possibilities. You'll do great! And I'll be there cheering you on all year. :-)
Lezlie
Wow-impressive!
Thanks, Dar!

My head is literally spinning. I first saw that your read War & Peace in Jan and still had time to read 8 more books. Then I noticed that one of those 8 was Brave New World! Holy smokes! How do you read those heavy sluggers and 6 others? May I quote from an earlier comment? Someday I want to be like you. So awesome.
Booklogged ~ Thank you so much! Some of those books are audiobooks that I listen to on my hour-long commute, which helps not only my reading numbers, but keeps me from debilitating road rage. ;-) Also, I started War & Peace toward the end of Dec. 2007, so I had a bit of a head start on that one. I list my books in the month I finish them, so I always have a carry-over or two in January.
Lezlie
wow, now I wonder what my monthly breakdown in reading is...whether I read more books in one month versus another...hmmm...time to investigate.
Happy New Year!
Serena ~ I think I've always recorded them by month. It is fun to look back and see the breakdown.
Lezlie
Wow! Great list -- such a good mix of "important" books and entertaining ones. I like to see my old favorite Jean Plaidy show up.
What is most impressive is that you reviewed almost all of them. Dang! I might have read as many, but no way could I review as many!!!!!
Rose City Reader ~ Thank you! I really like Jean Plaidy, too. I have a reissue of one of her Victoria Holt mysteries here to review that I'm looking forward to.
