by David Sedaris
David Sedaris' Naked is highly recommended for anyone planning on participating in a 24-hour Read-A-Thon. I'm thinking any of his books would be good for that. The bite-sized essays are just the thing for a pick-me-up when your eye are starting to feel filled with sand. How can you fall asleep when you're giggling?
And if you're not trying to read for twenty-four hours, but are just looking for a little something to pass some time and lift your mood while you wait for your 401k to recover, this is your book. In fact, pick up a few of Sedaris' books, since you'll be waiting for a while. :-)
NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)
Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

Can you believe I've never read any of Sedaris' work? I have Naked on my wish list because someone told me it's a good one to start with.
Haven't read any Sedaris either, but I keep getting reminders - like yours here- that I really ought to!
I haven't read anything of his either, but I'm sure I have something of his lying around, just waiting! He sounds like fun anyway!
Bermudaonion, Jeane & Joanna ~ I think you'll like him a lot. He never fails to make me smile at the very least!

This one is sitting on my shelf as we speak, and I'm saving it for the next time I need a slump buster! lol
This sounds like a nice little change of pace. I added it to my TBR.
I love Sedaris - I have this one on my iPod and haven't listened yet. Soon!
Andi ~ I want to read more right away, but I'm afraid I'll run out of books of his. I think you're smart to wait and savor. . . :-)
Teddy Rose ~ There you are! I've missed you! I think you'd like Sedaris.
Terri ~ I couldn't find this one unabridged, otherwise I would have listened also. It's twice as funny listening to him read his work himself!

I've missed you too Lezlie! The film festival left me behind, but I'm close to being caught up now. I still have 2 more reviews to write for my blog.

Teddy Rose ~ I'm behind, too. I only have a couple I need to get written, but my brain has slowed. Must be the cold. :-)
I have never read a Sedaris book but I just bought this one last Saturday at a book sale.
I've always wondered about his books--actually almost picked this one up the other day when i was shopping for last minute read-a-thon books. I recently received Holidays on Ice and can't wait to get into it!
Natasha ~ It's definitely a good one to start with.
Trish ~ I haven't read that one yet, but I'm thinking it will be good for when all the holiday nonsense starts. :-)
