NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)

Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

LLP: May 2009 Wrap-Up

I know May isn't quite over yet, but I've got a busy weekend of sitting on my behind on the patio looking at all our new flowers and reading planned. Therefore, I'm getting this out of the way now. :-) Looking at the plan for May, it appears as if I didn't do very much. However, in addition to all the other books I read this month (list at the bottom of my blog), I finished The Faerie Queene and I'll be finishing Ulysses tomorrow, so I feel like I've had a smashing month!

On the downside, my eyes got bigger than my free time at the library, so I had to take back 18(!?!) books without reading them. Bummer, because I really wanted to read them all. I added them back to my library wish list, so hopefully I'll get to them eventually.

I'm going to use this evening to decide what my goals will be for June. I'm leaning toward a "summer vacation" and spending the month reading whatever looks good at the moment. (Like I haven't been doing that anyway. Ha!) Maybe I'll modify Andi's plan and read off my own shelves for a few weeks. I'll think of something, have no doubt! :-)

Sounds like my kind of weekend! Congratulations on your Ulysses finish, that is quite an accomplishment.
Oh I finished Choke and will have my review up soon. It was great! Funny but strangely poignant at the same time.

Jaimie ~ I can't wait to see your thoughts on Choke! It was weirdly touching, wasn't it? Until someone reads it, it's hard to explain the talent he has for making you care so much about freaky people. :-)

Well I consider the Faerie Queen and Ulysses to be amazing accomplishments of their own...congrats to you! I'm hoping to read more of whatever strikes my fancy this summer also.

Thanks, Jo-Jo! I'm sure whatever I do will have some sort of "theme" to it, but I want to have a smaller checklist for next month.

Ulysses?? Holy cow--are you a total glutton? :P After reading and hating Portrait (twice), I've vowed never to read another Joyce book if I can help it. Look forward to what you thought, though.

Glutton for punishment that is, but I'm sure you got it.

Trish ~ I knew what you meant. :-) Ulysses showed up at the library, so I thought I'd get it out of the way. You'll see some lighter fare over the summer. My brain is full!
