NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)

Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

Woohoo! Can't wait to hear (read?) what you get hold of!

Andi ~ This one is stretching me a bit. I'm not really sure exactly what qualifies as an essay! :-) But I've been looking at some books like "The Best American Essays of 2008" and the like to get some ideas. I think this will be fun!

Oo! Another tempting challenge! If I did this one, I could finally get around to reading two of Nick Hornby's books: The Polysyllabic Spree and Housekeeping VS. The Dirt. Hmmm.

I'm STILL working on narrowing down the challenges I sign up for. I'm down to 13 now. I'm not sure you should be tempting me with more. LOL

Literary Feline ~ I'll have to check out Hornby for this challenge. I always like the reviews I see of his work, and then I forget about him! Good luck narrowing down your challenges! I'm at 17 now, and I keep finding myself thinking, "Oh, this will be the last one. . ." Yeah. Right. :-)

I'm so glad you're joining us, Lezlie! I heartily recommend Anna Quindlen's book of essays, "How Reading Changed My Life." Also, Ann Fadiman's "Ex Libris" is wonderful, too. I added you to the list of participants!

Lezlie - have you read either of Anne Fadiman's books - Ex Libris and At Large and At Small? Both filled with really wonderful essays.

Terri ~ I think I'm close to done signing up for them. I think. :-) I have not read either of those books, but they have been recommended by a couple of people. I'll have to look for them! Thanks!
