NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)

Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

Confession: I Love Old Music Videos

I'm still grinning from that Andy Taylor video I embedded on my post from last week. I looooooved that song when it came out! And there are so many that I never thought I'd get to see again, but thanks to YouTube they're out there for me to love all over again.

Many regular readers of this blog know about my musical alter ego, but what you may not know is that the biggest musical and performing influence in my life was Paul Stanley from Kiss. I idolized him. I loved his voice, I loved his stage presence, I coveted his awesome platform boots with the chains on them and that black feather jacket.

Big sigh. . . That chest of his was nothing to scoff at either. ;-) But seriously, he was the performer I wanted to be and I still watch him with awe. Love him or hate him, you couldn't help but pay attention. This video is from Kiss' extremely short lived disco era. I think it lasted one song. :-) The song is "I Was Made For Loving You", the album was "Dynasty" and this tour was the first time I ever saw Kiss live, the first of about eight times that I saw them:

Come to think of it, that costume was pretty fabulous, too! Very romance-novel-heroish with the puffy sleeves and cool cape. I wonder what other fun videos I forgot about that I could find. Whatever they may be, I'm willing to bet there will be lots of hairspray involved. :-)

OMG Lezlie, something else we have in common-our love for KISS. I adored them-all of them but especially Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. I practically drove my parents out of their own house listening to them. lol. While my music tastes have changed somewhat over the years, my love of KISS hasn't.

Dar ~ Fun! More KISS fans! I'm pretty sure my parents also knew all of KISS' songs whether they wanted to or not. So did the neighbors. :-)
