NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)

Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

It Isn't Just Me, Is It?

I certainly have no desire to wish my life away, but is anyone else having trouble focusing on finishing out this year's challenges without dabbling in next year's challenges? I can't wait to get them started! I find myself bringing home books from the library for 2009 challenges just so I can feel like I'm already participating even though I can't start them for another couple of weeks. Weird. But you all understand, don't you? ;-)

I totally agree - I look at my book list or my TBR stack and think ooohh I want to start this book for this challenge and then realize I can't until Jan 1. LOL.

Can't wait to get started there are so many great challenges out there for next year.

I hear ya! Since I've just gotten on board with these challenges mine don't start til January. I had a hard time picking my current read since I have to wait for the others!

Kara ~ Exactly! I'm constantly thinking, "Oh, wait, not yet. That will work for the 2nds Challenge. . ." :-)

Jo-Jo ~ The Countdown Challenge started in August, so that one and the Book Awards II Challenge might be able to hold me over. You'll have so much fun with the challenges!

I already know I can't complete the Fall Into Reading Challenge. It's the only one I signed up for this year, but I put way too many books on my list. (Hey, you can't say I'm not ambitious. LOL)

But I really want to dig into the WWII books I bought recently. It's so hard to hold off until the official start date!

Anna ~ I went too wild on the seasonal challenges, too. I think I'll be skipping those this year. That WWII Challenge is so interesting! It's going to be fun to see what everyone chooses for it. Good luck holding out! :-)

I totally agree! I'm so excited for the next years challenges.

Veronica ~ I think I'm the most excited for the Art History Challenge. No reason other than it's so different from the ones I did this year. How about you?

No, it isn't just you Lezlie. I want to get started on the War Challenge so bad and then I keep looking at my shelf of books and thinking which ones I want to read for the Read Your Own Books. The library is a struggle too because I think oh I should read this but then I think I won't be able to count it yet. What a struggle! lol.

This year's challenge are officially done for me. I'll be doing my posts up this weekend. There's no way I can finish the Classics Challenge or the Fall Into REading. That's ok, I'm just going to commit to doing a better job next year.

Dar ~ I know what you mean. And don't worry about challenges you don't finish. You had fun reading the books you did get done for it. Mission accomplished! :-)

i THINK i'm most excited for the "what's in a name" challenge. i was bummed i didn't do it last year, but made sure to do it this year.

Veronica ~ That one sticks out in my mind, too. We'll have fun with that this year! I'm also looking forward to finding 50 "new to me" authors for the New Author Challenge. I'm already putting books on hold until January so they'll count for that!

I'm not an addiction professional, but I am a mental health professional and it sure sounds to me like you have a challenge addiction, unlike myself! LOL!

Teddy Rose ~ Hmmmmm. . . Could this be a case of "pot/kettle"? ;-) It's going to be fun spending the next year with all the other crazy folk! :-)

I'm with you. I haven't signed up for any 2009 challenges because my brain just isn't there yet. Blech, we'll see how it goes when I have some time off of work.

Kim ~ You must have lots of will-power! I think I have three more I'm looking at joining. But if you've been working a lot, that takes a toll on the mind, for certain.
