NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)

Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

Georgette Heyer Book Giveaway!!!!

My first book giveaway, and what a fun one!

From the official press release:

Sourcebooks, Inc. is proud to be the premiere publisher of Georgette Heyer. By the summer of 2009, 21 of Heyer’s beloved romance and historical novels will be released in trade paperback. With her 12 mysteries to follow after that, Georgette Heyer will again be the author everyone turns to for exciting, heartfelt, well-written stories of the regency.

And now Nancy Pearl, “rock star librarian” and book commentator on NPR’s Morning Edition, has added Sourcebooks’ re-issue of one of Heyer’s most clebrated historical novels, An Infamous Army: A Novel of Wellington, Waterloo, Love and War, to her highly anticipated summer reading list! (The full list can be found here.) Nancy’s official announcement will air the week of July 7, 2008.

Exciting for devoted fans and a wonderful new discovery for Heyer beginners, each newly designed release is selling better than the last. Hailed as the favorite of countless readers and the inspiring influence of modern authors, Georgette Heyer’s timeless legacy continues.

Georgette Heyer is often credited as the creator of the regency fiction genre, and Sourcebooks is proud to be a part of continuing Heyer’s uncanny ability to delight readers!

In celebration of An Infamous Army being chosen, Sourcebooks is providing 4 books to give away to lucky readers! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling me which book from the list below you would like to win. (And if you've read Georgette Heyer before, let us all know other titles you would recommend!) I'll draw for the four winners on Sunday, July 13.

(Due to financial constraints, this contest is only open to readers in the U.S. and Canada.)

Books Available for this Giveaway:

An Infamous Army (The book chosen by Pearl!)
False Colours
Black Sheep
Cotillion
Friday's Child
The Royal Escape

Good luck, everyone!

Hi Lezlie! How exciting!

If your give-away is open to overseas people as well, then I'd like to enter and am interested in An Infamous Army. I've never read anything by Georgette Heyer before, but you sure make it sound interesting!

Thanks! :-)

Hi, Joanna! I put in the question to my contact at the publisher. I hope the answer is "yes"! I'll add the info to my post as soon as I get it. Thanks for asking. I didn't even think of it!

I'd love to win any of the books really. I've only read two Heyer books but they were both so so so good. But since I have to choose just one, I pick Cotillion.

Could you please drop my name in the hat? I have some of these already, but I've not yet bought Faro's Daughter. Thanks (and thanks for leaving the link on my blog!).

Leslie, Thanks for sending me here from Dani's blog. I haven't read any of her novels so it's hard for me to choose. Maybe either False Colours or An infamous Army? I'd be happy to win any really! Thanks for the oppoortunity. Nancy D. in NY

Leslie,
Thanks for offering this! I've been a fan of Georgette Heyer for a few years but have had to rely on the ones I've found at book sales, mostly her mysteries (I recommend Envious Casca). I'd be interested in any of these. Thanks again!

I read Heyer years ago during a crisis in my life - I remember them fondly as wonderful escapism. Unfortunately, I don't remember details about any of them, other than that they were each an excellent read. I'd love to have a chance to read and enjoy them again and, this time, remember them.

I reviewed Friday's child recently. And I've heard great things about Black Sheep - so that's the one for me. Thanks for this great giveaway!

I'd like to be in the drawing!
I'd like any of them except Friday's Child which I have. I came here from a Lady of Quality, so I'll say that, but any of them really.

Off to explore your site now- I have a Border Collie/Lab mix so I'm anxious to read about yours.
