NOTICE: (Updated March 5, 2010)

Beginning December 19, 2009, Books 'N Border Collies will be posting but only intermittently while I pursue personal goals. I plan to share some reading I'm doing, but there will be no reviews. I will, however, be sharing my exploration of vegetarian cooking and the cookbooks and websites I use to educate myself. I hope you enjoy it!

A Life Well Read & A Special Offer For My Readers

When I was asked by D&D Creations to review their product A Life Well Read, I couldn't pass it up. I have a huge weakness for anything that helps organize my books and my thoughts about them -- log books, note cards, blogs. I love them all!

I was truly impressed with A Life Well Read. The packaging is beautiful. The cards on which you write your notes regarding your reading are small enough to use as a bookmark in trade paperbacks and hard cover books allowing you to keep them handy, but big enough to actually write meaningful commentary. There are cards on which to keep track of books you lend or borrow and books you'd like to give as gifts. There are bookplates for your personal library and bookplates for the books you gift. There is even a very nice pen included so you have no excuse to not get started right away! :-) You can find a full description of what is included here.

The fact that your notes are taken on cards that can be arranged in any way you prefer is a big seller for me. It's always driven me to distraction that I can't rearrange my notes in a notebook or journal and keep them in alphabetical order, or group them by subjects, or whatever my whim of the week may be. A Life Well Read eliminates that problem. I can arrange and rearrange to my literary-OCD-riddled heart's content! :-)

Purchase A LIFE WELL READ for 25% off!!

If you'd like to learn more about A Life Well Read and possibly purchase it for yourself or as a gift, D&D Creations is offering my readers 25% off until August 30, 2009!! Click here to learn more. In addition, you prolific readers out there can purchase extra packs of cards for $4.95. You can find them on the "Special Offers" tab on the product site. I don't make anything at all from this offer, so I'm not talking it up to pad my pocket book. I love my copy, and it really is a gorgeous and useful product for any serious reader. Go check it out and tell them Books 'N Border Collies sent you!

sounds like a great organization tool for those in need of greater organization, like me. Anyone volunteering to fill out the cards for me?

They are exquisite! They somehow reminds me of the library card catalog, with a more personal touch.

Matt ~ They are, aren't they? I hope they sell tons of them! Now that you mention it, they are kind of like the old card catalog. From a *really* swanky library. :-)
