Daphne and Tanzanite's Shelf and Stuff alerted her reader's to a couple of upcoming books, but one is a book that I must encourage my reader's to check out:

I read Pauline Gedge's Child of the Morning
If that isn't enough, Michelle Moran of Nefertiti and The Heretic Queen fame, has written a Foreword for the new edition. How perfect is that? It doesn't come out until April 2010, but my copy is already preordered. I can't wait!!

Ooh sounds great! Thanks for the heads up!
I've a couple of Gedge's books and enjoyed them. Since you gave this one such a high endorsement, I definately think I"ll be checking it out!
Jenny ~ You're welcome! I hope Michelle Moran's success will help bring Pauline Gedge to new readers also. She is amazing!
Daphne ~ This is one of those books that I loved so much, I'm afraid to reread it for fear I'll feel differently. :-) As soon as I get my hands on the new edition though, I'm going to go for it.

Ohhh... thank you, Lezlie :]
I absolutely adored this book as well. It's about time someone propels Queen Hatshepsut back into the spotlight where she belongs. Such an amazing story!
Michelle ~ You're welcome! Hatshepsut's story is a great one. The only other version I remember seeing recently isn't about her but takes place during her reign. It's the Doherty mystery series featuring Amerotke. (I think that's his name. It's been a while!)

Sounds fantastic, thanks for the info!
Joanna ~ You're welcome! I hope you have a chance to read it.

I saw tha cover and the first thing that came to mind was Michelle Moran. What a beautiful book! I think I've seen a History channel special on Hatshepsut before...
Ladytink ~ Hatshepsut was quite the woman! I'm surprised more authors haven't explored her story.

Lezlie, I'm going to check this book out of the library because of you and get to reading it.
Poppy Q ~ I hope you love it! I'll be anxiously waiting to see your thoughts.
