And Then Tonight I Picked Up These . . .

All Art Is Propaganda and Facing Unpleasant Facts, both books of essays by George Orwell. And now I must stop. At least for this week. :-)

  1. Hahaha If you are anything like me there never is a stopping point, especially with buying books....My problem is I am running out of places to put the books....

  2. When I try to make myself stop, it all just builds up inside and then I buy extra books the next time I go shopping!

  3. LOL! I'm considering reading only books I already own, but all that does is make me buy more books! I do want to read some of Orwell's essays though.

  4. Celtic Lady ~ You are so right! Try as we may, they just keep coming home with me. I have a big bag of book to donate to the library, but even that didn't clean out enough room. Oh, well. :-)

Nymeth ~ I haven't read any, but I was flipping through these and they all looked really good. I could decide between them, so I bought them both.

Bermuda Onion ~ I hear you. The scary part is that it only days a couple of days for the "build up" to happen! :-)

JoAnn ~ That plan never works for me either. These compilations just came out, and they both look full of great essays!

  5. You're just cracking me up here, mostly because I've been known to go on a book binge at times, too. Love it!

  6. Michele ~ I go on so many of them that I usually don't confess. Really, life is just one big book binge. :-) But this time I figured what the heck? Maybe it'll slow me down if I have to post about all of them. But probably not. LOL!

  9. Interesting covers but I'd get them confused because they're so similiar. Hope you enjoy them!

  10. Ladytink ~ I agree. The different colors were my only tipoff that they were two different books. :-)

  11. You know, I've never read ANY of Orwell's stuff. Even 1984! I'm so ashamed. It's an English major scandal. lol

    Enjoy these!

  12. Andi ~ 1984 is the *only* thing I've read by him. I got me some catching up to do! But I am surprised you haven't read any. I assume all English majors have read Orwell and Ulysses. :-)
