2009 Chunkster Challenge

Here is one I was waiting for! There are a number of choices for participation this year, and I'm going for the wimpy one. I don't have too many Chunksters about the house, and I tend to shy away from the few I have even though they are wonderful books. I want to make sure I get at least a couple of them read this year. Therefore, I am going for The Chubby Chunkster level, which only requires two books of over 450 pages. I can do that!

Completed: 2/2 as of April 10, 2009 **COMPLETED**

1. The Annotated Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe, Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Hollis Robbins
2. Revelation by C.J. Sansom

  2. Lilly ~ I really enjoyed it last year, and it's a good way to prompt yourself to read those monsters we keep putting off until later. :-) Have fun!

  4. Glad you're joining. You know I didn't realize I had that many already planned to read for other challenges until I started looking. Scary business. lol.

  5. I just joined this one, too. I'm thinking about Anna Karenina, The Woman in White or Dance to the Music of Time. I'll be anxious to see what you choose.

  6. Jo-Jo ~ You would have fun with it, that's for certain!

Dar ~ You list *is* scary! ;-) That's a lot of big books! I tend to do "chunksters" on audio, so I only have a few.

Lisa ~ Those all look great! I read AK many years ago when I didn't appreciate it. I'd like to reread that one sometime.

  7. I can easily fulfill this challenge with a couple of my hope-to-reads this year. I get more overwhelmed with the picking of books for challenges and the tracking to sign up for any more, though.

  8. BkClubCare ~ I'm not making lists for challenges this year if I don't have to. I felt too restrained by that last year, so I know what you mean!

  12. I don't think there are any wimpy options in this challenge, Lezlie. :-) Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you end up reading!

  13. Literary Feline ~ Thanks! With so many people signing up for 5 and 6 or more of these big ones, I was feeling a bit sissyish. :-)
