Remember Those REALLY Big Boots I Bought?

I was finally brave enough to wear them for a show and were they ever cool!! They also generated a lot of conversation. :-) If you click on the photo, you can see a bigger version and get a better idea of just how tall they are. The heel is 7" and the front platform is 5". I felt like a member of KISS! It took about a half of a set to get used to moving around in them, but after that I was able to maneuver in them for the rest of the show just as well as in my usual boots.

Very fun!

  2. You look great! I would end up breaking my neck if I wore them.

  3. Well as usual you look fabulous! But were you actually able to walk in those? I bet I'd try to take a step and fall flat on my face!

  4. Petunia ~ The are crazy, aren't they? I have about a dozen pairs of platforms now, and those are by far the tallest.

Bermudaonion ~ Thank you! I was afraid I would, too, so I had a pair of my regular boots backstage, just in case these were too much for me. :-)

Dar ~ Thanks! I was able to walk and after getting used to them I was actually able to dance a bit, believe it or not. Peter said he'd try to get some video posted as proof. LOL!

  6. OMG - they are amazing! Glad you were able to move around in them...those boots look like they could lead to serious injury - lol!

  7. Oh my goodness Lezlie! Those boots are hot (as are you). What fun!!

  8. Amy ~ Now I'm blushing! Thank you so much!

JoAnn ~ They had me concerned, but they were just so cool I couldn't resist them. :-) Now that I've gotten through an entire show without incident they have become my very favorite boots!

Thank you, Trish! They really are fun. Watching the looks on the audience's faces when they noticed them was equally entertaining! :-)

  9. You look hot! I can't imagine keeping my balance in them, hahaha.

  10. Thanks, Mel! Actually, it was easier than you'd think it would be. It was more a mental block than real difficulty. Once I got used to the height, I forgot all about it and carried on like normal. Only taller. :-)

  11. Ah, some are just naturally coordinated. You are blessed with this particular skill; I am most decidedly not. Rock on.

  12. Bookshelf Monstrosity ~ All those years of dance lessons finally paid off by simply not falling down! LOL! I'll rock on tonight in your honor. :-)

  13. Those are awesome boots! And props to you for not falling on your face, as I know I would do.

  14. Thanks, Heather! The un-sexy part are the two pairs of arch support socks I wear in those boots to keep my feet from hurting. LOL!

  15. Bloody hell Lezlie, those are huge! Well done for not falling off the stage! :-) And by the way, you look absolutely beautiful!

  16. Joanna ~ Thanks and thanks! Now that I think about it, with all the places we play where there is no stage and we're just standing on the floor, it might have been smarter to test them out in on of those places instead of the one where we're three feet up from the dance floor. Good thing I thought that all the way through a week later. Ha! :-)

  17. I LOVE 'em!!! Very KISS indeed. And like so many others--I would've broken my face if I'd even tried. I fall off of ballet flats. Must be the bad ankles. lol

  18. Andi ~ I wear platform boots instead of some of the really cool platform shoes *specifically* for the ankle support they provide. Lace 'em up good and solid through the ankle area and you're *much* safer than in high-heeled pumps or sandles. You know, just in case you decide to give them a try. :-)

  19. Yikes...sexy boots, but I'd spend more time on my arse than on my feet if I wore something like that!

  20. Holy boots, Batman!! You look awesome! Thanks for the fun post!

  21. Kira ~ For the most part, the boots are mostly good for sitting around looking fabulously glamorous. You could use them for that! :-)

Joanne ~ Thank you! And you're most welcome!

  22. Those are so awesome Lezlie and you look fabulous! Next time I am down that way I may have to check out one of your shows...it sounds like a fun time!

  23. Wow -
Don't fall of those babies, but I bet it was fun.....:)

  24. Now that's a hot outfit! I love the boots! And my hair is about as long as yours but not as soft and awesome looking. I can't wear mine down without looking like a frizz ball. What's your secret? ;)

  25. OMG....Bravo for pulling it off; you look great. I'd be put in a locked Alzheimer's Unit if I put those on. I'm more of an Uggs lady...LOL

  26. Congratulations on not breaking your neck! LOL!

  27. LOL (not at you, Lezlie, but at Diane above) I was going to say the same thing regarding Uggs! If you saw me in those black platform boots, you would die laughing. They work on you! :)

  28. Jo-Jo ~ Thanks! I would love to see you at a show! I hope you can work that out sometime.

Shellie ~ Very fun! That's the part of me that has a hard time accepting being 44 years old. :-)

Anna ~ The secret is that is a really deceptively good picture. It never looks like that in real life! :-) I have the fuzz issue, too. I couldn't believe the pic when I saw it. I told Peter, "Holy moley, I'm jealous of my own hair because I know it doesn't really look like that." With the exception of shows, I'm a ponytail chick. :-)

Diane ~ Here is a funny secret about me: I own only two kinds of footwear -- running shoes and platform boots. My clothes consist of mostly sweatshirts/jeans and cocktail dresses. Consequently, I spend my life looking either completely disheveled or way over dressed. :-)

Teddy Rose ~ Thank you! I was thanking my lucky stars for the same thing. :-)

Thoughts of Joy ~ I'm so glad I'm lucky enough to pulloff platforms. Being a lifelong KISS and Stevie Nicks fan, I have a particular affection for them. But Uggs always look sooooo comfy!!

  29. Darn, I thought you were going to have some advice that would change my life forever. LOL Seriously, I'm a bun person when my hair is long. I tend to grow it out, chop it off for Locks of Love, and repeat. :)

  30. Anna ~ If I make any discoveries in the future, I will be sure to share! :-) That's so great that you donate to Locks of Love! What a cool thing to do! My hair breaks off a lot so growing it out to where it is now was a process that took literally years. I'm keeping it, frizzy and uncontrollable or not. :-)

  33. Gorgeous boots. I'd wear em...though I don't have anywhere to wear them to!

  34. Serena ~ I hear you there. I need to keep singing for a long time just to have a reason to wear them. :-)
