What Was I Thinking?

Let's see. I've got The Faerie Queene, Ulysses and Madame Bovary all going at the same time. No wonder I've been a little cranky lately. Didn't I say something before about this kind of thing being a bad idea? :-) OK. It wasn't an "idea". It turned out this way due to requests at the library becoming available. Honestly though, I may have to pick up some Dr. Seuss or something. Soon. Before my brain turns to mush. With all due respect to Spencer, Joyce and Flaubert, of course. ;-)

  1. Nothing wrong with a little Dr. Seuss break! I can probably recite One Fish, Two Fish and Go Dog, Go from memory ;-)

  2. I've kind of given up on the library for that reason. It seems like all my books come in at the same time, no matter when I put them on hold.

  4. JoAnn ~ Those are two of my favorites!!! "Do you like my hat?" :-) Great stuff!!

Bermudaonion ~ I hear you. I need to restrain myself a bit. I'm thinking next time I set my monthly goals I should include something about reading off my own shelves for a couple weeks at least.

Eva ~ Thanks! I did pick up a Dave Barry book at the library yesterday for a little mindless fun this weekend!

  5. At least with those three there's no danger you'll get them mixed up - or maybe you will!

  6. Margaret ~ I think you're right! I haven't mixed them up so far anyway. :-)

  7. I have that problem with the library too. The books will have holds on them a mile long and yet seem to all come in at the same time. I can't wait to see what you think of Madame Bovary. I tried reading it at one time and just couldn't get into it-maybe it was just the wrong time for me.

  8. Dr. Seuss just may be the perfect answer with these heavy books that you have going on! lol

  9. Dar ~ It must be some form of Murphy's Law, don't you think? I'm liking Madame Bovary so far, but I personally think Emma needs a whack upside the head. :-)

  11. Emma most definitely does need a good whack along side the head. Great diagnosis Dr. Lezlie. LOL! You may need one too, maybe you should visit Dr. Seuss for a second opinion.

  13. Definitely sounds like you could use some brain candy or something a little "softer".
